Some Like It ... Body-swapped?
I've started on the next book I plan to publish on Amazon, which is a body-swap version of the Billy Wilder classic film Some Like It Hot (Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon, and of course Marilyn Monroe).
If you've never seen it, it's well worth a look. Two musicians, Joe and Jerry, accidentally witness a brutal gang murder in Chicago. Spats Columbo bumps off Toothpick Charlie in a garage while our heroes cower unseen. In order to get away, they are forced to take a gig with an all-girl band traveling out of town, so for the majority of the film they are both in drag as "Josephine" and "Daphne." When they meet up with Sugar (Marilyn Monroe), Joe falls in love with her and he contrives to play the role of an oil tycoon in order to win her over, switching back and forth to his "Josephine" persona. But this annoys Daphne, who doesn't want Joe to keep breaking character — they are, after all, on the run for their very lives.
So this is something like that, only instead of cross-dressing, there will be body-swapping. I openly admit that this book is inspired by the Billy Wilder film, while not being a carbon copy of the same story. Even if you do know the original 1959 film, I hope I can still surprise you with the outcome.
Perhaps I won't surprise you at all. Perhaps I will.
But after all, nobody's perfect.
